"Bad Education" - An Example of Good Work

As we get closer to the Emmys, we all pay attention to the comedies and the dramas. But what sometimes goes unnoticed are the amazing mini movies that are released through channels like HBO or Netflix. That’s where you can find something like “Bad Education”, which is currently on the former of the two channels I mentioned.

There’s not much to say about this movie, as it’s not very exciting or groundbreaking. But the story of how a charismatic school superintendent got caught in robbing millions of dollars from his own school district that is considered one of the best in the country is wild and intriguing in its own right. Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney put on stellar performances, which is really the only huge standout. But the masterful writing taking hints from detective-like films like “Spotlight” and it’s simplistic approach to directing keeps you hooked the entire way through.

Simply put, it’s not something I could find a lot to hype up, but I ca easily recommend it to anyone looking to learn something interesting and a little bit gut-turning. It has the suspense and the charming writing to keep you interested in what comes next. You may not think about it over the next five years, but it’s sure a memorable addition to the Emmy nominations should you want to see something new with lots of praise.
