"Spider Man: Far From Home" Review - So You Want To See the New Spider Man?

The question of “What’s next?” after Endgame is an impossible question to answer. I pictured these past 11 years of Marvel films as one super slow motion epic film. Far From Home is basically the epilogue.

This thrilling Spider Man sequel has everything that the first one had; great high school comedy, beautiful costumes, spectacular illusions, and a godly score by Michael Giacchino that tops it all off. Plus, Tom Holland kills it along with the rest of the young cast and Jake Gyllenhaal proves he is a beast at acting even in the silliest of roles.

It’s a very pleasing sequel that gets the job done, but doesn’t really offer anything new to the MCU genre besides upgrade the Iron Spider even more (which is the only gripe I have with the MCU version of the web slinger). The first two acts have its moments, but also feels very campy and slow most of the time. Once you get to the end of Act 2, which is a little more than halfway into the film is where the adrenaline really kicks it up a notch. The story is not as good as Homecoming, but it's stronger at times let's just say without spoiling. If you know the source material of who Mysterio really is, you’ll easily see what’s coming next, but even then, you’ll be in for quite a treat when you see what nightmares he can really bring to Peter Parker.

Overall, there are things Homecoming does better and visa versa, but Spider Man is once again done with love and justice and will satisfy any Marvel movie fan. Who knows where the MCU goes from here, especially after those 2 post credits scenes, but for now, let’s all just give it up for your friendly neighborhood…

Two Nebs Up!
