"Aquaman" Review - A Slowly Recovering Sinking

God damnit DC just can’t get it right.

Look, it’s not as big of a dumpster fire as Venom or any of the past movies like Justice League or BvS, but that’s not really saying too much. Jason Momoa is awesome at playing a darker and Marvel like character with his badass fighting skills and his witty humor and charm. Plus, the CGI is much better than other past WB films, and Julie Andrews is a phenomenal voice actress, but that’s pretty much it. Aquaman is filled with such a dumb storyline, forgettable villains, and lots of awful as hell dialogue that at some points is just laughable. The fighting choreography is slightly better, but still is filled with a lot of running away and overly computer generated moves, even when not underwater.

I lost hope with the DC Comics Universe a long time ago, but I just go see these movies now to laugh. This universe could be so much better. It can be more than just making your heroes way too badly written or too powerful, without the Zach Snyder darkness and slow motion. But they still haven’t found their way. The design of Aquaman’s final suit basically describes the entire Expanded universe so far; be exactly like the comics, and nothing more.

One Nebs Down!
