"Molly’s Game” is one truly insane story. It’s one that you really have to know some things before you get into.
Overall though, this film is really amazing. Aaron Sorkin’s tackle at directing is not bad at all, but there was way too much dialogue. The actors never stop talking and the script never gives you a moment to take it all in. But it does have a very fun energy and surprise to it that keeps you entertained the whole time. Plus, Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba give some pretty powerful performances to also keep your attention.
Overall, it has a very fun and insane unbelievable story, and lots of aspects like lighting, direction, and acting are terrific, but I just wish there was more time to take it all in instead of listening to Aaron Sorkin’s writing ramble on. Yes, it’s great writing, but there is just too much. But if you like energetic and crazy as hell movies, you’ll pretty much enjoy. Just make sure you know about poker before you go in, as you won’t get a tutorial in the screenplay.
