"Thor: Ragnarok" Review - Lightning Strikes (Finally)

“Thor: Ragnarok” is one f***ing fun hell of a ride. I would say it has gained a spot in my top 5 Marvel films of all time, and that’s saying something since the Thor movies have always been the weakest link of the MCU. For this installment, the formula for the general Marvel movie is turned completely upside down. It’s got a lot more memorable humor, a great buddy cop esque story, and lots of memorable new heroes. All while keeping the action and drama of the MCU we know and love in tact. All the trailers suggested this may be a big footstep to the highly anticipated “Infinity War”. Well, there may be a couple of connections here and there, but overall, it’s independent of the MCU, so you’re allowed to just go in and have a fun time!

The effects weren’t the best this time around, and I hated how Hulk’s voice sounded like a robot a good chunk of the time, but good lord the comedy just makes up for it so much. And from the godly performance by Cate Blanchett to the Jeff Goldblum performance of….Jeff Goldblum, every cast member in this whether old or new just kills it this time on the merry go round.

Long story short, be ready to laugh your ass off. And if that’s not your type of thing, I think with the story, the action, and the crazy ass story this movie has, you will still be very much entertained.

Two Nebs Up!
