"Macbeth" Review - An Adaption Worthy for the Modern Times

"Macbeth" is something very special. I remember reading the play many years back, and I had to read some summaries to refresh my memory. If you know the story, you'll get through the movie fine, but if you know the language of Shakespeare, you'll get the full roller coaster ride.

What ever your case may be, make no mistake, this movie is a cinematic experience. It has some of the best cinematography and color grading I have ever seen in a single film, and combined with the fantastic scenery, you are placed in a truly Shakespearian world combined with a feel of "House of Cards" or "Game of Thrones". Along with the technical aspects, the performances by everyone, especially Fassbender and Cotillard, are all star material. I could defiantly compare this film to the Kenneth Branagh version of "Hamlet" I watched in high school (should out to Mrs. Kelsey)

It's tough to translate Shakespearan language to the big screen that will keep people hooked all the way, yet also stay faithful to the story. But Justin Kurzel does it, and it pays off in the end. It's truly a great immersive experience, and I highly recommend it.

One Nebs Up!
