(laughs)..."Batman V Superman" was borderline embarrassing. I'm like laughing thinking about how bad it was. The story is such a mess. It starts off great and has some great messages, but along the way, there are moments that don't make sense, and towards the end of the film, you kind of get angry at the decisions all the characters make or why they take these certain actions. And then of course, there's Zack Snyder, whom I hate. His slow motion, close up, dark graphic novel coloring, destruction bullshit annoys me so much. And DC fanboys will defend this saying that "Daredevil" does the same thing. Yes, but the difference is the team behind that show actually puts thought in their decisions. They don't make every shot seem fake, and they don't do it just because it looks and sounds cool. Another beef I had was that it was so loud. I love Hans Zimmer to death, but why he decided to make every single piece of music loud, rock, and operatic will always puzzle me. Some good things about it were the casting. Gal Gadot is awesome as Wonder Woman, and Ben Affleck I think makes a great Batman, but not so much a great Bruce Wayne. Jesse Eisenberg just sucks though. He's just playing a young Norman Osbourne. There are some good fight scenes that had a lot more potential, but are ultimately ruined by Zack Snyder's imagination. The writing is also defiantly an improvement, but it doesn't help with the story too much.
I will admit, I'm a Marvel movie fan, but I have been in love with these DC heroes for a long time, way longer than Marvel. But this is my inner film nerd talking, almost everything in BvS is wrong at some level. And I'm kind of sad to see it this way. If WB actually took their time with their movies and didn't involve Snyder in some form, they could blow out the MCU in a landslide. Because while Marvel may have the better movies, DC has the better heroes. Obviously there's still much more to come, but to see Snyder involved in everything except Suicide Squad from here on in doesn't give me too much hope. And if I've upset any of you comic boys, all I can say to you is haters gonna hate and ain'ters gonna ain't.
