Wow. "Whiplash" was pretty freakin incredible. I can't believe I'm saying this, but neck and neck with Foxcatcher for best picture in my opinion. It is basically a first class thrill ride that literally most of the movie takes your heart out ala Temple of Doom style and makes you completley stunned and shocked and amazed about what's going on. The story is written so well and the lighting and sets push the film into the real world so beautifully. Miles Teller, one of the most underrated actors out there today, should no longer be underrated as his stellar acting skills along with his fast moving and strong drum skills make his character soar beyond almost anyone. The one person he does not soar above of is JK Simmons. Now, I'm gonna stop right here and explain why this movie is so great. because it's down right relatable. We all at some point in our lives had a teacher who just hated us or was just so insane right off the ghetto. JK Simmons' character, is like that teacher you're thinking of, on about 10 doses of steroids. JK Simmons will scare the shit out of you, but he will also make you sad and happy along this incredible journey. He really should also get an Oscar, but let's hope there's not too much other talent out there to take it away from here.I swear to god America, go see this movie. You will be amazed at how damn good it is. You need to understand why this film conquered all the awards at Sundance this year.
