"Jersey Boys" Review - One Musical That Should Stay That Way

Man oh man Jersey Boys was good. A little slow at some points, but still great. A terrific broadway filled cast and so beautiful to watch.

I noticed that it's getting average reviews and I think I know why. As great as the movie was, the show is meant to be a musical. Seeing the show live is 10 times better because the music in it is phenomenal and people who are not theatre geeks will fail to witness the greatness of this show on screen. The music pops out at you when you see it live, and Jersey Boys just works better as a stage show just like Les Miz and Rock of Ages.

But I applaud Clint Eastwood. Excellent film, great adaption of one of my favorite musicals. And to others, if you don't like it, that's understandable. But go see the actual broadway show or a touring production. Seeing the show right in front of your eyes is a completely different experience!
